MIT Director Kalın met with Shara in Damascus: "Türkiye will always stand by Syria"
MIT Director İbrahim Kalın arrived in Syria as part of an official visit. Kalın met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara during his contacts in the capital, Damascus.
The meeting evaluated the progress made regarding the agreement reached on March 10 between the Syrian government and the alleged leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian extension of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, and addressed issues related to Syria's territorial integrity and unity. Kalın and al-Shara also assessed recent developments in the region, as well as Israel's attacks on Palestine and other countries in the Middle East.
Syria's territorial integrity was emphasized during the meeting. It was reiterated that Türkiye will always stand with Syria.
